Registered Family Child Care (FCC) Providers are approved by the State to provide care for up to 6 children in their own homes. This home-based setting is preferred by many of Hawai‘i’s families because it more closely replicates the child’s own home environment. Children play and learn under the consistent care of a single provider who supports their development over several years and, in the process, often becomes an important member of the family’s ‘ohana.

The goal of the Learning to Grow Quality Child Care (QCC) initiative for Registered Home-Based Providers is to provide professional development information and support to increase the quality of early childhood care and development that is taking place in these homes. We provide research-based professional development materials to every registered child care provider in the state. Dissemination of monthly learning packets is the core element of the QCC program.
